Mission: garden\garden is a demonstration project composed of two adjacent front yards that contrast the benefits of climate-appropriate plantings and efficient water use versus the style of garden that has traditionally been planted in Santa Monica in modern times.  Installed in 2004, the City of Santa Monica has been tracking the water use, yard waste produced and maintenance requirements of both gardens.

Manhattan Beach Demonstration Garden

Location: The 2/3 acre Garden is located in Polliwog Park on Peck Avenue, just north of Manhattan Beach Blvd.

Hours: Open to the public daily, 8:00 am until sundown Admission: Free

Mission: Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden is a non-profit public education organization dedicated to promoting earth-friendly gardening techniques, encouraging the use of California native and drought-tolerant plants, and conserving our natural resources.

Location: The Water Conservation Garden is located on the Cuyamaca College Campus at 12122 Cuyamaca College Drive West, El Cajon, CA, 92019.

Hours: Open Daily, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., some holidays excepted.
